These Handbollers come in 10 mm to 32 mm and are offered by just a few makers in Germany

I would really like to have one!! they are only a salute pistol not a real gun to be shot with a projectile?

Hi toot, thanks for the inquiry The barrels are much heavier than our shooters and I don;t see why they could not be fired with a projectile and a moderate powder load. The suggested load of Boller pulver for a 16 mm pistol is 230 grains. The barrels are 1 and 7/8 inch to over 2 inches at across the barrel flats. This is a Boller next to a CVA colonial pistol in 45 caliber. The bore in the boller is only 58 cal. The boller below is even larger and heavier and will stand up on it's barrel by itself. It is 18 mm (12 ga) BTW: the one in the upper picture is from Euroarms and the lower one is from Palmetto

P Frank: The barrels on the bollers are exceptionally heavy. I see no reason why they could not shoot a projectile. But I would not be loading as much as the blank load charge in it with a large PRB. I routinely shoot 60 grains on another 58 caliber pistol with a much thinner barrel. (Springfield pistol repro) Back at the 4th of July, I shot the 75 caliber boller with 22o grains of powder and two 10 ga shotgun wads. That was a bit more recoil than I expected for just two shot wads.

In northern Italy, there are clubs that shoot massive salute guns called Trombini. They can weigh 50 to 100 pounds. These guns have such massive butt plates, that they can stand on their own for loading. One such club is located in the village of San Bartolomeo. Here is a rather short introduction video for their club (52 seconds) www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDnMmHs8-xE
